GUIDING PRINCIPLES

We believe that film and media offer powerful opportunities for engaging emotions and intellect, altering preconceptions, and fostering tolerance and understanding about people and the diverse cultures of the world.

WHAT WE DO

Our mission is to produce and promote provocative documentary films and media for learning about the people and cultures of the world, with particular emphasis on Africa. Inspired by the pioneering work of ethnographic filmmakers like Jean Rouch and John Marshall, we believe that film and the visual media in particular can afford powerful scope to engage both the heart and mind. Through film, preconceptions, misconceptions and misunderstanding among people can be dispelled. In this respect, we believe in the power of film to promote intercultural understanding and tolerance amongst the world’s diverse peoples and cultures.

INTEGRITY

We believe in the importance of connecting filmmakers and audiences, and in maintaining high professional standards in the quality of our products and in our interactions with filmmakers, educators, and our professional community.
